Jets Create cap Space, Trading JFM to Broncos for Pennies
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Chalk this one up as a huge win for the Denver Broncos who acquired Jets defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers for little more than nothing at all.  Gang Green accepted a 2026 sixth-round draft choice for one of the most important pieces on their defense.

A player who can be penciled in for at least fifty pressures every year who has the flexibility to play both inside and out goes to Denver for pennies on the dollar.

The move was strictly motivated by their current cap situation which is not good at all.  With over $40 million in dead cap according to overthecap.com, the Jets were sitting at roughly $3 million in cap space.  With the team needing roughly $10 million to sign their rookies, a move had to be made.

We mentioned the possibility of the Jets moving JFM with our pre-draft thoughts right here, but weren’t how sure it would happen as he brings plenty of value to the table.
